Gumpert

Running 224 mph and reaching 62 mph in just 3 seconds flat, the Gumpert Apollo is a sure fire way not to get late.
The super car was first conceptualized in 2001 by Roland Gumpert, from whom it got its name, who wanted to introduce a new line of sports car that is both street-legal and racetrack-ready. After spending three years in China, Gumpert returned to Germany, and was sought by Roland Mayer for help in building a prototype sports car. Gumpert agreed in one condition: the car would be a real series product, rather than just a prototype. With the imagination and expertise of Marco Vanetta who took charge of the technical guidelines and primary designs of the car, the first 1:4 scale model of the Gumpert Apollo was completed in 2002. Gumpert continued work with the car, and with the assistance of the Technical University of Munich and the Ingolstadt University of Applied Sciences, the blueprint of the first 1:1 scale model was formed. The Apollo then first came out in October 2005.
Since then, Gumpert Apollo has never been left out in the list of fastest cars. Actually, it is the fourth fastest car in MSN Cars released in 2009, which actually translates to the obvious fact that there are not so many cars that can outrun the Apollo.
